Satan is a Destroyer, and so are his Servants

Rev 12:10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God.

Where to begin? When a RASN (reviler, abuser, sociopath, narcissist) realizes that you will no longer be their supply – ie, a supply of praise and image-promotion for them – I can tell you what they are going to do. They are not only going to be done with you (after all, you have no purpose for existing except to supply them with glory), they are going to do all they can to destroy you. They want revenge and they set out to punish you for refusing to serve them. So, like the devil, destruction is their game.

Many of you have experienced this. False accusations, slander, evil doings to ruin your reputation, blaming, shaming – all with the goal of destroying you. They will try to destroy you economically, relationally….any area they can demolish, they will.

The Lord has permitted many such wicked ones to come into my sphere of experience over the years as a pastor. I’m sure He has done so to teach me and enable me to help others, but I have to admit it has been a painful and slow process.  Slow because waking up to this kind of deception is a slow process.  We don’t wise up quickly because it is darkness and wears a mask. In addition, it so often comes at us in the guise of someone we thought was a friend, or even a fellow Christian. But Satan can come as an angel of light. I have even defended these kind many times before a hard lesson revealed to me what they really were.

But my main point here is this business of destruction. When a narcissist, for example, is exposed and confronted directly or indirectly, the rage boils and their tunnel vision is focused on only one thing – destroy, get revenge, punish. Initially they can even have us thinking we had done something wrong in exposing them. That is how diabolically cunning they can be.

Psa 124:1-8 A Song of Ascents. Of David. If it had not been the LORD who was on our side— let Israel now say— (2) if it had not been the LORD who was on our side when people rose up against us, (3) then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their anger was kindled against us; (4) then the flood would have swept us away, the torrent would have gone over us; (5) then over us would have gone the raging waters.

(6) Blessed be the LORD, who has not given us as prey to their teeth! (7) We have escaped like a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped! (8) Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

It is good and right for us to pray for the Lord’s justice upon our enemies. But when we see people pursuing the destruction of someone for the purpose of vengeance, a red light needs to be flashing in our thinking – we are probably looking at a RASN.
