The Parable of the Ten Virgins
The Lord Jesus tells us what the condition of the visible church is and especially what it will be in the last of the last days. Some wise (regenerate) and some foolish (unregenerate).

This sermon was preached at a funeral service by the Puritan pastor Thomas Brooks in the 1600's.
Christ and His army of mighty angels surrounds each one of His people to protect us from all evil and to foil every scheme of the enemy to destroy Christ's church.
We must look to the Lord for our help. He is the guardian of His people. He never sleeps and He promises to preserve us from all evil.
Most professing Christians do not grasp the privileges the believer has as a member of Christ's church. In this sermon by Martyn Lloyd Jones these great privileges are set before us. Jesus' parable of the wise man and the foolish man calls for us to examine ourselves carefully to see if we are truly building on the Rock, or upon sand.
The Christian need not grieve as the world does when death strikes. As Thomas Brooks put it so long ago, The Christian's Dying Day is His Best Day.
Christ has ascended back to the glory He had with the Father from all eternity. His ascension was His coronation day and now He reigns as King of kings and Lord of lords. And we His people reign with Him.
We must take care not to be deceived and led astray by another Jesus. We must hold fast to the Head of the true church and always look at Him who is the author of our faith.
